So now that we are officially into 2018 by over a month, I thought now might be a good time to start making this blog posting a weekly(ish) thing. If you come here to get perfect grammar and syntax you are going to be sorely mistaken. I am not a writer by trade nor do I ever want to be one.
That said, 2018 is set to be an interesting year for me here at Omega Image Photography. I will be attempting to book, attend and complete our first bridal show. It is going to a new show in a local venue. So it is anybodies guess as to how well it will play out. I might attempt to book another one in the fall for the Scranton or Wilkes-Barre markets and see if there is any play down there for me. As for actual wedding shoots I have only one on the book currently for the end of July (my busiest month!) That leaves my dog show photography picking up any slack for now. I am not sure if the club that I have been doing business with now for the past 2 years will continue to require my services since they are always quiet as a church mouse until a couple months from now. I did have a line and almost booked dog show in the first part of April but the club backed out and went local. Can't really blame them, but they did offer the job and then pulled the offer off the table. But those are the breaks!
Winter is always a slow time for shooting for me, but I have been playing around with the Godox lighting system that I got back in August 2017. I have to say that after running that system with virtually no time beforehand it was perfect. I will be investing in a couple more AD200's and one more AD600 when I have the money to make those investments as it will fill a very solid lighting setup with backups in case of failure. Also need to hop over to MagMod when I do and pick up some more of that exceptional gear. People are always amazed at how fast I can go from case to setup in less than 5 minutes. Hell....I am amazed at how little time it takes to setup anymore. Xmas was fun as always and wound up with a nice set of nesting Manfrotto light stands which will make transporting and carting stuff much easier as well. Still in the market for a background system that I like but it isn't urgent at the moment. So as you all can plainly read moves are being made behind the scenes and the hope is for Omega Image Photo to have a breakout 2018 and run-up to an amazing 2019 season.
Stay tuned for breaking developments!
