Hey there everyone!!! So exciting news is that I got in my new lights just before our dog show assignment. I purchased the newer Godox AD600 and the AD200. So far I have only played a tiny bit with these lights but I am already looking at them and knowing these will change a few things for OIP. The main thing is that I now have the power and capability to overpower the sun on any given day and shoot with HSS. I had some of that capacity already with the Phottix gear I had, but not in the amount of power I wanted to shoot those photos.

The AD600 is a great battery-powered monolight for the price point. The equivalent of the AD600 is the Profoto B1 series, which those are far more costly. Which to a fledgling studio is kind of a large consideration at this point in the game. I am impressed with the ability on the monolight, its' ease of use is quite astonishing. I have the X1 trigger for my Canon system. So I am using the X1 to trigger the system currently and have found the radio system to be super reliable. I am still testing and fiddling with the system as a whole, and will report back down there road with further results.

The AD200 is a game changer for me as a photographer. The AD200 has a very unique ability in that it can mount a traditional speedlite head or a bare bulb. With the mounted speedlite head it has the ability to run the MagMod gear on it so that I can change the modifiers on the light very fast and go from a grid, to a diffusion bulb, to a wide reflector, to a frensel lens and etc. I am going to be purchasing at least another 2 of the AD200's as soon as possible for more flexibility in lighting.

When I get the chance to play around more I will be posting images of the lights, modifiers and test shots with the new lighting as well.
