Hey there everyone. So for those of you that have been reading those I am trying to stay a little more active on here. Plus I think it might help SEO and other driving factors for site activity and more activity means more chances for business and I am all about the business! So yeah I have had my first bridal show and done all that jazz. So now in the aftermath of that I am slowly contacting attendees and just touching base with them. If you are one of those attendees, I will be in direct contact soon if I have not been already. So from having done that show and having most all of the pieces I need to get my arse to other shows and get my name out there I am thinking that Omega Image Photography is going to be doing at least one of the major bridal shows in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area this fall. I am not sure which of (if not, both) of the shows I am going to be attending. They claim over 300 brides per show, so that gives me a much larger pool to attempt to pull business from and get some serious bookings.
On another front, I am going to be selling a few pieces of outmoded gear to make some funding for some more relevant gear. Looks like my Rokinon 14mm, Canon 24-105L and some of my older DC monolights are going down the road. I know, I know...that seems like a large amount of sales, so what must I be purchasing? Well at current the plan is only to bring in two more Godox AD200 and a spare battery for those with some MagMod gear. I might also buy the newer Godox trigger and push the one I have now into a backup role. So with the sales and purchase there I know that there will be more money hanging in the account after all that... That means I have some "walking around" money which is never a good thing for someone like me. If per chance I am able to swing enough in place I am thinking before the KTB event in late July I might go after a Canon 5DIII I won't be able to make enough to get a MarkIV or a 5DS but I think I can get enough to get the DIII in place. At which point that body becomes my lead body and the 6D drops to a backup and secondary body. The 60D would then simply be for "Josh time" meaning fireworks, and aviation without feeling guilty that I am spending shutter clicks on work bodies for my own fun.
At current the schedule is wide open other than the KTB and the DVYTC events (end of July and end of August respectively) I am looking to see if I can get some other shoots going. I have some lines in the water for a bridal shoot that I would like to expand if possible. Also this might be the year I get back to Ricketts for an update shoot of the waterfall(s). I am also timing out a run or two for a local visit by FiFi one of only two operational B-29 bombers still flying. Of course July is fireworks month and I have yet to do any of the scheduling for those shows as well. So yes I have shoots coming up and will be interested to see what kind of Gallery images I can get from them to pass along for wall art sale.
